اس سلسلے میں عباس بن عتبہ بن ابی الہب کہتے ہیں:
بعمی سقیٰ اللہ الحجاز واھلہُ ۔۔۔۔عشیۃ یستسقی بشیبتہ عمر
اللہ تعالیٰ نے میرے چچا کے وسیلے سے حجاز اور اہل حجاز کو سیراب کیا، جب عمر فاروق نے ان کے بالوں کی سفیدی کے وسیلے سے بارش کی دعا کی۔
توجہ بالعباس فی الجدبِ راغِباََ ۔۔۔اِلیہ فما ان رام حتی اَتیٰ المطر
حضرت عمر فاروق نے قحط سالی میں حضرت عباس کے وسیلے سے اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف رجوع کیا، زیادہ دیر نہیں گزری تھی کہ بارش آگئی۔
ومِناَ رسول اللہ فینا تراثہ ۔۔۔ فھل فوق ھذا للمفاخر مفتخَر
ہم میں سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہیں اور ہم میں آپ کی (علمی) وراثت ہے کیا کسی فخر کرنے والے کے لیئے اس سے زیادہ اور بھی فخر کی کوئی چیز ہے؟
گزشتہ سند تین واسطوں سے حافظ ابوالقاسم تک پہنچتی تھی، ابوالقاسم کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابواحمد عبیداللہ بن احمد فرائضی کو کہتے ہوئے سنا کہ وہ حمزہ بن قاسم بن عبدالعزیز ہاشمی کے بارے میں ہمیں بیان کرتے تھے، عبیداللہ فرائضی کہتے تھے کہ میں نے یہ واقعہ خود حمزہ سے نہیں دیکھا، البتہ ان کا یہ واقعہ مشہور تھا اور اس دن بہت سے لوگ حاضر تھے جب حضرت حمزہ ہاشمی نے بغداد شریف میں اللہ تعالیٰ کی بارگاہ میں بارش کی دعا مانگی، انہوں نے اپنی سفید داڑھی اپنی مٹھی میں پکڑی ، ان کی سفید داڑھی بڑی خوبصورت تھی اور دعا کی:
اے اللہ میں اس مقدس شخص کی اولاد میں سے ہوں جس کے سفید بالوں کے وسیلے سے حضرت عمربن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے بارش کی دعا کی تھی تو انہیں بارش عطا کی گئی تھی۔ اے اللہ ! ہمیں بھی بارش عطا فرما۔
یہ کلمات کہتے رہے اور یہ وسیلہ پیش کرتے رہے، یہاں تک کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے بارش عطافرمادی(یعنی برسا دی)۔
وہی سند حافظ ابو القاسم تک، انہیں خبر دی علی بن محمد بن عمر نے، انہیں خبر دی عبدالرحمٰن بن ابی حاتم نے، انہیں خبر دی محمد بن عزیر نے ، انہیں خبر دی سلامہ نے، انہوں نے روایت کی عقیل سے ، انہیں خبر دی زید بن اسلم اور ابو اسحاق نے ، ان دونوں نے ایک ایسے شخص سے روایت کی جس نے انہیں ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے حوالے سے حدیث بیان کی اور بعض نے بعض کی نسبت زیادہ الفاظ روایت کیئے۔
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رمادہ کے سال حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے لوگوں کے ساتھ مل کر بارش کی دعا کی ، پھر انہوں نے حضرت عباس بن عبدالمطلب کا ہاتھ پکڑا اور دعا کی؛
اے اللہ ہم تیرے نبی کے چچا کے چہرے کا وسیلہ پیش کرتے ہیں اور تیری پناہ مانگتے ہیں۔
اسی روایت میں ہے کہ حضرت عمر خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے لوگوں کو خطاب فرمایا اور اس میں فرمایا ۔ اے لوگو! رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم حضرت عباس کو وہ مقام دیتے تھے جو اپنے والد ماجد کو دیتے تھے، ان کی تعظیم وتوقیر کرتے تھے، ان کی قسم کو پورا کرتے تھے اور ان کی غیر حاضری میں انہیں فراموش نہیں کیا کرتے تھے، اے لوگو! حضرت عباس کے بارے میں رسول اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی پیروی کرو اور انہیں اللہ تعالیٰ کی بارگاہ میں وسیلہ بناؤ۔
In this matter Abbas bin Utba bin abi alhab says:
(first line of poetry-stanza)
Translation! "Allah showers (rain) upon Hijaz & Hijazi'ans from intercession of my Uncle, when Umar (rd) asked for rain by intercession of his white hairs (beard)."
(second line of poetry)
Translation! "During the dwarf Hazrat Umar Farooq (rd) (the 2nd Caliph of Islam)seek for rain with the help of intercession of Hazrat Abbas (rd) (The Uncle of Prophet salallahu alihi wasalam, towards Allah, with in short time the rain showers."
(third line of poetry)
Translation! "Prophet salla llahu alihi wasalam) is from and amongst us, and in us we are having you's (salal laahu alihi wasalam's inheritance (knowledge), is there anything much prouder than this thing in the people who had pride?"
The explain sanad is reached to Hafidh abul qasim by 3 narrators, Abu alqasim says, that i heard this from Abu ahmad ubaid-ullah bin ahmed faraizi who was telling that he was saying about Hamza bin qasim bin abdil aziz hashimi, faraizi said, I didn't seen this personally happening from hamza, but his this act was popular, and on that day many people were there when Hazrat Hamza Hashimi while in Baghdad, supplicate in the Lordship of Allah for the rain, he hold his white beard in his palm, his white beard was very beautiful and supplicated that!
"O Allah!i am from the progeny of that holy person, by the intercession of whose white hairs, Umar bin Khatab (rd) supplicate for the rain, and You blessed them with. O Allah bless us the rain too."
He again and again repeated these words and presented this waseela (intercession), until Almighty Allah showers the rain upon people.
Same sanad (chain of narration) to Hafidh abulqasim, he was informed from Ali bin Muhammad bin Umar, he was informed by Abd-rehman bin abi Hatim, he was informed by Muhammad bin Uzair, he was informed by Salamah, he is narrating from Aqeel, he was informed by Zaid bin Aslam, and Abu Ishaq, those both narrates from such a person who has narrated this to them by ibn Abbas (rd),this hadith, and some uses more words instead of some others.
Hazrat Ibn-Abbas (rd) says "that during the year of Ramadah, Hazrat Umar bin Khatab (rd) perform supplication along with the people for the rain, after that he held the hand of Hazrat Abbas bin Abdul Mutalib (rd) and did a Dua(supplication):
"O Allah! we intercede through the face of the uncle of Your Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasalam, and ask for your refuge.""
It is also written in this riwaaya (narration) that Hazrat Umar (rd) addresses the crowd and during his address he says. "O People! Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasalam) always give such prestige and higher status to his uncle as he gave to his own father, he respects him, and do not forget him even if he was not there at that moment. O People! in the case of Hazrat Abbas (rd) follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (sallal llahu alaihi wasalam) and make him intercession for you in the Lordship of Allah.
